I have a laptop here that won't bring up System Properties either by right
clicking My Computer and going to Properties, or under System in the
Control Panel. However I can do Start/Run/sysdm.cpl and it comes up. On
further inspection I discovered that *nothing* will come up from within the
Control Panel.
I haven't checked it for malware yet, but the owner rarely goes on the
internet except for upgrades to his business software. All his other
programs seem to work OK.
Everything is backed up, so it wouldn't that big of a deal to wipe it out
and start over. It has a restore partition.
Does this sound like the way to go or is there a simple fix?
