Storage System - SSD or PODS (Plain Old Drive System)

My System:
1) Processor Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU T9300 @ 2.50GHz
2) Processor Speed 2.43 GHz
3) Memory (RAM) 2048 MB
4) Operating System Microsoft Windows XP Professional Service Pack 3
5) Operating System Version 5.1.2600120GB Sata II Harddisk

I am planning following upgrade;
1) 4GB memory
2) 128GB SSD Disk with TRIM ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TRIM )

Question, are there any fixes for XP Professional SP3(i will unstall SP3 if
I have to) that will support TRIM withh an SSD drive? I know that SSD without
TRIM will become slow and sluggish.

If I can't get TRIM in XP would getting a larger Hard disk have same effect?

There is a tool here, to make the situation a little better for an SSD on WinXP.
I expect in one form or another, such a tool may come from other manufacturers
as well.

My recent i7 Windows 7 build used an SSD. In my case it only bought a 64gB
(Patriot Torqx) because nothing was intended to go on it except the OS and
most critical software installs. There is a 2tB conventional drive for
everything else. My research tells me that in an SSD with one of the better
controllers and well-done firmware the drive will become "slow and
sluggish" only very gradually and only if the drive becomes quite full. If
the drive is not packed then any degradation is more gradual. I believe
that you will find that all SSD makers offer a utility, usable only on
their drives and specific to models, which does the drive leveling. If the
drive has such a utility and if I didn't intend on packing it full the
utility would be the way I'd go. My present drive will support TRIM with
the newest firmware flash but since loading the firmware involves erasing
the drive I don't intend to install it until it has been stable for at
least six months -- it works very well as-is so there is no pressing need.
