Config: IE8, XP Pro service pack 3, separate audio card. Audio is working fine with several applications but NOT with IE (although audio on web pages is enabled). It has been working earlier though. Should I uninstall IE and reinstall it or is there another remedy? -- TS
Hi Ossian, Do you have a link to a web page where this is occurring? You could have pressed the mute button on the Flash video you are trying to watch and the site is retaining your preferences as you view other 'videos'. Here is a link to a test page that will help you diagnose sound issues with IE. http://www.wholenote.com/default.asp?iTarget=http://www.wholenote.com/help/sound/default.asp (It looks like they are not IE8 ready and they are incorrectly detecting that I have cookies disabled.... just ignore the cookie warning) Regards. Hi, again. Here is an even better test page.... gives you a number of diagnostics that includes Java and Quicktime which may have a bearing (depending if this only occurs on SOME web pages). http://otel.uis.edu/browsertest/ (I added this test to my favorites list... vg.)
