When trying to ad Google or any other search engine as new search provider, I
got an error page.

Of course, we all know what the error message said. And no need to tell
us what version of Internet Explorer you're using or what version of
Windows you have. We'll just consult the spirit world.

If you type 'http://www.google.co.uk'
you will see the Google home page.

If you type 'http://www.google.co.uk/search?q='Google help'
you will see Googles search result for 'Google help'

But if you type 'http://www.google.co.uk/search?q='
you will get the error message
'Your search did not match any documents'
as you did not enter anything for Google to search for.
