Search oddness: NN

I was searching for instances of the characters NN in one of my
notebooks and discovered that this matched all *numbers* in the
notebook. This isn't mentioned in OneNote's help page on searching. Is
it documented somewhere? Are there similar quirks? (I know that to find
the actual characters NN I can just stick double quotes around them.)
