I purchased McAfee Antivirus Plus in Nov 2009. I have always had McAfee on
this machine. I bought it over 5 yrs ago so I dont remember if it was a
trial version but it's a Dell so I'd say yes it was. I had some trouble
installing the current version and called their tech help so I know we
completely wiped out any extra files that might have remained from previous
versions. It is completely updated.
Yes to KB982381and No to KB979559. When there are more than 4 windows
patches I do a few at a time in case any give me a problem. I wait a couple
of days in between just to make sure. KB979559 is in the final batch that
was not yet installed. I planned to do that batch once this problem was
solved.
Yesterday there was a McAfee update and it kept asking to reboot all day. I
didn't want to shutdown until the evening. Maybe that was causing the
problem? I'll know by tonight if it's fixed and will report back.
Thanks for your assistance.
