Restore one note files on CD

I recently purchased a new computer with Windows 7 and on my old computer
with windows XP I loaded one note files on a DVD. I installed Microsoft
Office home and student 2007 on my new computer (the same program as on my
old computer). How do I put these files on my new computer. I can easily put
the document files from DVD disc from my old computer to my new one. But I
cannot figure out how to do it in One Note. I have searched the internet and
the one note help program but with no luck.

John,
If I understood you correctly, what you want to do is to copy OneNote
notebooks from the DVD to your new computer.
You should look for *.one files (these are OneNote sections) and copy the
folders which contain those files to your new computer (folders are OneNote
notebooks).
If you want to do this from within OneNote, follow these steps:
1. Open the notebook you'd like to copy
2. Go to File > Save as
3. Browse to the location on your new computer that will contain the notebook
4. Fill in the file name
5. Select OneNote Single File package from Save as Type
6. Select Current Notebook and click Save
Then, by double clicking the file you just created, you will start the
unpacking process. You will be prompted to fill in the name, where you will
use the notebook and to confirm its location.

I hope this helps.
