Thanks for explaining how the auto crash recovery works. I have reenabled
this option in IE.
In the link you provided, CCleaner is one of the recommendations for
preventing the annoying message box to appear. I have been using this utility
for the past few years and it does a great job. I usually run the cleaner
before shut down but never received a message box if I didn't. Since I
installed IE8 only a couple of days ago when installing Windows 7, perhaps it
was not included in my earlier version of IE. So, I experimented and found
that if the cleaner is run before shut down, no message box appears! However,
I will still run the disable file from the linked website and hope it doesn't
screw up anything else.
Your help has been greatly appreciated. Not many take the time to be so
thorough.
