Reply box in forums won't stay scrolled down

When I try writing posts in some forums (not this one), after the post gets
to a certain length (longer than the box is deep), I can no longer see what
I'm typing.

Or, to put it another way... the reply box won't stay scrolled down.

I'm using IE 8.0.6001.18702

Is this a problem with my IE settings?

Hi Morphias,

Right click on the IE8 toolbar and select Compatibility View button.

When you visit sites that do not work as expected in IE8 (standards mode)
then press the Compatibility View button (looks like a torn piece of paper).

Regards. the Oracle.

This is commonly caused by "caret" handling script code. I had the same
issue in my own phpBB based forums, and the fix for that was to add a meta
tag to the HTML to force IE8 into IE7 Compatibility Mode (this is a lazy
solution, but it was the only one available at the time as nobody was fixing
the javascript itself).

As ^rob^ has already suggested, switch IE8 into Compatibility Mode yourself
on these forum sites and it should allow you to use the reply box as you
expect it to work, at least until those forums apply fixes to either force
IE to switch itself or correct the scripting.
