When I send my redline contract to my boss, his is not in red, does anyone
    know why?

Colors of tracked changes depend on the user's settings. If your boss'
aren't showing in red, then that's a function of the settings on his
computer. By default, changes vary per author, although a user can set them
so that all changes are the same color(s).

If he's using Word 2007, in the Review tab, click Track Changes - Change
Tracking Options. There's an equivalent setting for Word 2003 and earlier,
but I don't remember the precise instructions.
