Problems with Office Professional 2007

Hi. I have recently installed Office Professional 2007 onto my computer, and
eveery time I open up any of the programs I get a window come up headed
Windows Installer - then msg saying Preparing to install, then another window
headed M/S Office Standard 2007 with msg Error 1308 etc etc. I press cancell
and box with error 1311 comes up. If I cancel all these boxes, eventually
the programme will open, but the boxes start to appear again, I cancel them
again and then the programme is ok to use. Does anyone have any ideas
please. Should I uninstall and then re-install?

Locate winword.exe, rt click, run as Administrator
Except any msg windows, see if that helps
If you continue to receive err msgs, post the exact msg

Thanks for replying. Have tried what you suggested, and it juste opens up
Outlook and I start to get all the msg boxes I stated in my first mail. The
error messages read as follows: Error 1308 Setup cannot find requried file
C:/MSOCache\AllUsers\(91120000-0012-0000-0000-000000OFFICE)-C\Standard.WW.XML
Check your connection to the network, or CD-ROM drive. For other potential
solutions to this problem see SETUP. CHM. Then this one comes up Error
1500 Another installation is in progress - You must complete that
installation before continuing with this one.

Have tried SETUP.CHM but get the following box - Windows cannot find
'SETUP.CHM' Make sure you typed the name correctly, and the try again.

Was Office an upgrade from earlier version?
Are you using an win account with admin rights?
Is this a new PC, and if so did you first uninstall any Trail & its
Activation Assistant

Hi - Was using Office '97, but bought Office Professional 2007 after trying
Office Standard 2007 Free Trial. It is not a new PC and not sure what you
mean about using a win account with admin rights. Also, since installing
the 2007, I receive four copies of most of the mails that come through. Went
back to old Outlook and it's not happening on that
Thanks

Hi, To-day in desparation I uninstalled and re-installed the programme.
Still got the same problems. Tried to also delete the Standard 2007 Free
Trial but had box come up to tell me that the installation is corrupted and
to put the CD - ROM in or go back to the source I got it from. (Which is
Microsoft).

You have to uninstall any Trial, reboot, before installing any paid for
version
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/928218/en-us

If you have integrated Anti Virus, that can cause issues with Outlook

Hi 'DL' thanks again for replying. I have tried to uninstall the trial, but
for some reason it won't let me. Tells me Product installation has been
corrupted. Run set-up again for CD, DVD or original installation source. I
do have AVG on my PC, could that cause the problems with Outlook? Sorry to
be so vague, I am a novice PC user as you probably guessed. Am away until
Saturday, from tomorrow, so will not be on line. Hope you can still help me.

Many thanks Carol
