I have Windows 7 (64) and IE 8, and I have the following problems which I do
not have with my other laptop (Vista 32 and IE 8).

problem #1: a javascript pop-up will show up as a blank screen and will
display "about:blank" at the top.

problem #2: on certain sites, the pop-up window will display the login
screen, and I have to re-login and navigate again to the site which I wanted
to see in the pop-up window.

Any solutions are appreciated. I have checked the "Display all websites in
Compatiblity View". thanks, rjp

Hi,
Are the problems occurring with 32-bit IE8 or 64-bit IE8? IE> Help> About
will tell you if you're running the 64-bit version.

First try...
Start Internet Explorer without add-ons by right-clicking the IE icon on the
desktop. Choose Start without add-ons.
or
from Start> Programs> Accessories> System tools> Internet Explorer (no
add-ons)
If the problem goes away, a browser add-on is causing it.

For troubleshooting information see:
IEBlog Troubleshooting and Internet Explorer’s (No Add-ons) Mode:
http://blogs.msdn.com/ie/archive/2006/07/25/678113.aspx

Then see the first post by Steven in this thread:
http://social.answers.microsoft.com...r/thread/ab25f905-0c8c-4504-be56-93dc207b91fe

If unsuccessful with those procedures, post back with an answer to the
32-bit / 64-bit question. There are other possibilities.
