Problem sending from IE8 to OneNote

I'm getting the following error every time I try to clip from IE8
using the Send to OneNote function:

"OneNote cannot start. This may be caused by insufficient hard drive
space or by insufficient write permissions for OneNote's notebook
cache files in your user settings folder. Try to delete any
unnecessary files from your computer and then try starting OneNote
again. If this message persists, contact your system administrator.

Error code: 0x5"

I've tried just about everything I can think of. Suggestions?

(Frustrating for me -- I'm usually the guy ANSWERING questions, now I
find myself ASKING them more and more. <sigh>)

If it is 2010, did you install it over 2007?
Is perhaps your OS Win 7 64bit?
There has been occurrences of a similar problem with 32-bit version of IE8,
which should not happen in 64-bit version.

It's 2010, not installed over 2007. 64-bit OS. Problem is, I can't
make the 64-bit version of IE8 the default browser. This has worked
before, just started messing up.
