problem installing accelerators on ie 8 windows xp

i try to add-on accelerators on ie 8--but when i hit the buttons, NOTHING
seems to happen when i right click my mouse--i only have the accelerators
that wer previously there---
please forgive me if this is a 'stupid' question, but i am new to this--

Hi Arthur,

Tools>Manage Addons, Accelerators tab, check if your new Accelerators are
enabled.

Not all accelerators will appear in the context menu when you display it.
You may have to select some text on the page before a search accelerator
will appear in the list.

Example.

Open a web page.

Select some text on the page to highlight it.

Right click on the selected text to display the context menu.

Only Accelerators that use a text selection (search or translate
accelerators) will be displayed in the list.

Unselect the text by pressing the Esc key.

Right click on the page again.

This time only Accelerators that use the page web address (domain lookup or
translate accelerators) will be displayed in the list.
