Playing a OneNote Video

I have been given a .one file, and been told it is a video.

Unfortunately, I do not have OneNote, and nothing on my computer will recognise the file.

Is there any way that this video can be played without the expense of having to buy MS Office? For example, can a codec be installed into WMP to play it?

I've searched the internet, but not yet found an answer to this question, which suggests to me that only OneNote will do, and therefore, this is the answer I'm expecting but hoping not to get...?
