Pictures

I have a picture in Microsoft Office Picture Manager that I right click on
and press Set as Desktop Background. However, when the picture appears as my
desktop background, it is so much larger than the actual picture itself that
all I see on the desktop is the center of the picture blown up to an absurd
proportion. I can't even see the people in the picture.

What is causing this and how do I correct it?

It depends on what operating system you are using and has nothing to
do with Office.
If XP, then rightclick the desktop and choose Properties.
On the Desktop tab use Stretch instead of Center or Tile

Use a third party viewer such as www.xnview.com Right click your image, set as
Wallpaper.
Xnview is free.
