Photos try to open in IE8

I am running Windows XP SP3. I recieved an e-mail with photo attachment, when
I tried to open attachment I got the error "file does not have a program
associated with it for preforming this action" (using Outlook Express). So I
copied the photos to my pictures folder and opened it in IE8. This worked,
but now I cannot open any of my photos, the photos all try to open in IE8 and
then I get the message IE8 has encountered a problem and needs to close. I
re-installed IE8 from Microsoft but that did not help. I also ran the restore
program that did not cure the problem. The file ext. is .jpg. Can anyone give
me any help to solve this problem?

Just install a picture viewer program and associate that with .jpg.
E.g. IrfanView, ACDsee, etc.

Right-click a .jpg and use "Open with".
The standard is Windows Picture and Fax Viewer if you haven't got
anything else you prefer.
