Password retrival

Is there a way I can retrieve a password? I'm asking because I have my desk
top computer and my wife's laptop networked using a router. When this was
set up, a wifi was created along with a password so we could use our iPhones
to go onto the Internet instead of using the 3G capabilities of the iPhone.
Now whenever I try to get on to the Internet using my iPhone, it asks for
this password - which I have forgotten. My desk top PC is as follows:
Windows Xp SP2 using IE7. Any help or advice is appreciated.

Reset or reinstall the router.
