partial web page shows up

I hate this new internet 8, ever since I loaded it it has been nothing but
trouble. I go onto some web pages and it does not show anything but
pictures, not writing or anything else. Everything is X'ed out. Also some
web pages like my sons games when you have to open a second page with in the
game it only comes up on the screen small you can not click on the square box
in the middle to enlarge the page. This has been so frustrating. Can any one
fix these problems?

What are the properties of the "X-ed out" items?
Perhaps some other program has control of them
which is not compatible with IE8? Etc.

Not really clear why you can't use the window's Maximize button.
Does Alt-Space,X work with it instead?

Two other possibilities:
1. use Fullscreen mode on your popup window, e.g. press F11
2. use tabs and launch all tabs in the same window.
