On April 29th, the Long Term Support version of Ubuntu will be released,
a release that Mark Shuttleworth devoted all his time to so that Ubuntu
will finally shoot Windows out of the stratosphere. Get it at
http://www.ubuntu.com/ You'll be glad you did.

What can be done with Ubuntu:

Email
Surf the web
Burn CDs.
Rip CDs.
Listen to music.
Watch vidoes/DVDs.
Scan and print.
Spreadsheets.
Presentations
Newsgroups.
HTML editing.
Games like Chess, Tetris, all kinds of solitaire, etc.
Make videos.
Download photos from a camera and organize them.
Translations.
Use a dictionary
Learn how to touch type.
Edit images.
Send and receive a fax.
Take screenshots.
Create .PDF files.
Create and use a data base.
Instant messaging with over 10 different programs in one including
Windows Live Messenger.
IRC.
Bluetooth.

and much more!

What you can't do with Ubuntu:

Worry about:
WPA and WGA raising their ugly heads,
DRM,
Viruses,
Root kits,
Spyware,
and
Malware.

Liar. Win 95 was vulnerable to viruses, needed constant rebooting,
degragging, reinstalling, etc. No compiz. No multiple workstations. In
short, you're an idiot to have said that and only reveal how little you
know about Windows 95 and Ubuntu.

Very impressive (yawn)

You're about as impressive as Reagan was when he had Alzheimer's disease.

You know, KDE has desktop effects built-in that work as well as
Compiz.

Yeah, I know. It also has a Mac like dock. I prefer plain old Ubuntu.

Out of curiosity, what can you do with win7 that you couldn't do with
win95?

The important thing to remember is that you can't run the most popular
programs with Linux and therefore Linux/Ubuntu is worthless to most. It
doesn't matter about Windows 95.

How about TRYING to stay on topic. I was attempting to find out what the
poster feels he can do with win7 that he could not do with win95. Is that
so difficult to understand?

A number of things such as using modern hardware. Try to find a driver
for a modern video card, for example. With Win7 and Linux, rebooting
like you had to do with Win95 isn't necessary.

Are you interested in purchasing a copy of Windows 95? I still have a
shrink wrapped copy at home.

The poster commented that the list of Linux capabilities by the OP was
'just like win95' - I'm merely interested to see what additional
capabilities he sees in win7 as compared to win95 - that's all - nothing
more.

Take a look at the graphics in Ubuntu and the functionality of the OS. Just
like Windows 95 in technology.
