I have microsoft works 9 installed. When I try to use my Office Prof 2003
upgrade it will not recognize the office works 9 as a valid upgrade program.
How can I get the upgrade to work? I cannot find any hints within the MS
website. Thanks for your help!

You may need this patch for upgrade to work:

<http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=04446BAB-F439-4DB8-856B-2DE7234F22A0&displaylang=en>

The above patch definitely works with Office 2007 Upgrade but I haven't
tried it using Office 2003 Upgrade. Also, you need to to have a CD for
Works 9 for this patch to install correctly because it always require a
CD after it has installed to copy something from the CD.

After installing the patch, you will be able to install your Office 2003
upgrade. Let us know if it worked.

That is because Works 9 is NOT an upgrade qualifier for Office 2003, only
2007 and later. You need an Office 97, 2000, or 2002 disk as the qualifier.

See: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/315995

Works 9 was actually issued after Office 2003 anyhow so how would an
installation package know about a newer product?
