Why does office 2007 standard keep configuring every time I open Word?

Hi
I have just had this happen to me in the last week and it was very
frustrating. After many hours on the internet and speaking to Microsoft I
have arrived at what I consider to be the definitive solution to this. The
cause I believe is previous versions of Word having resided on your computer
at some time. The solution is as follows:
[a] Uninstall all Office components from your machine using the Programs
and Features function in the Control Panel.
Open the registry and navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER. Select
Software->Microsoft, highlight Office, Right Mouse Click and delete it.
[c] Open the registry and navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE. Select
Software->Microsoft, highlight Office, Right Mouse Click and delete it.
[d] Navigate to Program Files on the C drive and delete the Microsoft
Office folder.
[e] To be safe shut your machine down.
[f] Restart the machine and reinstall Office and you should be good to go.
Hope this helps. If it does not I have two other little tricks but they
should prove unnecessary.

Well, part of my consulting and development of software features is a
greater use of Microsoft Office products - and with the introduction of
another Profile Exchange:

My company is very excited about the soon official release of Office 2010.
Of course, that means another transition time for many companies - some
finally upgrading to Windows 7 - and researching the benefits for upgrading
from previous office suites.
And, that is why the Microsoft Office 2010 Profile Exchange (including 2007
office products as well) will be of interest to many who follow this
newsgroup.
