Not a fan of IE8

Before I upgraded to IE 8, I enjoyed surfing the web with IE7. Pages loaded
quickly and without problems. Now I have the newer, better browser. Many
pages I used to frequent without problems fail to load. fail to load. fail to
load. fail to load. Sorry, cannot load. there is always something wrong with
the page. There is never anything wrong with IE8. I don't believe it.

Sorry to hear that.

I've had the opposite experience.

Pages load faster and my CPU usage (in Task Manager) seldom goes to 100%
like it did frequently with IE7.

I also like the new tab control options along with more features with the
Address Bar.

Reinstall your anti-virus. Remove it, then install it.

Uninstall it, redownload IE8 from MS, and reinstall. I'll bet
it'll work better then. Don't use auto-update to get IE8;
download it yourself instead.

I first must admit to not yet trying any of the earlier suggested fixes
which I will try.
However IE 8 has caused me to have less satisfaction from the web with its
page unavailable failures and blank jpg's in some web pages. These are not
presented when using IE 7.

I think it is a good idea to communicate this to Microsoft.
They may want to hear when significant number of customers don't like
the products they release.
It has happened before that the company decided to abandon (and replace)
products because of widespread customer dissatisfaction.

Among the other suggestions, I would consider some, or all, of the
following:
Note: These steps may not fix your problem, but they may help you isolate
it.

1) Go to Tools > Internet Options > Security
Then click "Reset all zones to default level"

2) Test the bad webpages with IE8 add-ons temporarily disabled

3) I might even consider testing the bad webpages with your anti-virus
software temporarily disabled.

4) Delete all of the IE8 files,
1.. Start Internet Explorer.
2.. On the Tools menu, click Internet Options.
3.. Under Browsing history, click Delete.
4.. Select the check box next to Preserve Favorites website data.
5.. Select the check box next to Temporary Internet Files.
6.. Select the check box next to Cookies.
7.. Select the check box next to History.
8.. Select the check box next to Form data.
9.. Select the check box next to InPrivate Filtering data.
10.. At the bottom of window, click Delete.
11.. Close Internet Explorer, start Internet Explorer again, and then try
to access the Web page.
Good luck.

Sorry Michael but if it necessary to butcher your records of history,
favorites, form data etc. to make a program work then its time to scrap that
program.

Stuff (corruption) happens. Sometimes you have to do a cleanup. ;-)
