Norton on 'Start-up' Issue

Hi:
Every time XP starts up, Norton popping up which slows down Home-Page
opening. Norton came with my ISP, Comcast, then it's FREE, but over-all I do
not prefer having Norton.

How to get rid of Northon Popping up?

Also, I do not need 'too much' security, ... only 'Anti-Virus.'

Simply unininstal the whole thing via
/ Control Panel / Add/Remove Programs.

In this sequence:

Download Norton's Removal tool and save to desktop.
http://service1.symantec.com/Support/tsgeninfo.nsf/docid/2005033108162039

Download Microsoft Security essentials and save to desktop.
http://www.microsoft.com/security_essentials/

Run Norton removal tool and reboot. Then install MSE.
There are many free AV, but I prefer MSE.

Did you uninstall Comast's McAfee freebie *and* download/run the McAfee
removal tool *before* you installed the Norton freebie?
