Network Connection

When I try to play a video from the internet on WMP it gives me this error
message:

"Windows Media Player cannot play the file because a network error occurred.
The server might not be available. Verify that you are connected to the
network and that your proxy settings are correct."

Was on the phone with a Rep from Windows for a long time once but didn't get
very far! If anyone has a solution please help out!

In WMP11, head to the small dropdown menu below Now Playing.

Click More Options, then go to the Network tab.

You want (and usually need) the 3 checkboxes RTSP/TCP, RTSP/UDP and
HTTP all to be checked.

Also, below that in Streaming Proxy settings, both RTSP and HTTP
should usually read 'None' (unless you're using a work PC and know a
specific reason why not).

Click each of those then Configure... if they're different, and see if
you continue to have issues (if so, which video at which exact web
page ?)

Cheers - Neil
