MSE combined virus / malware .. very slow to start

Something is still wrong .. I have installed the MSE package ,
run the full scan .. nothing reported .... ran malwarebytes and
that found 3 infections .. 1 trojan in a system restore file and
2 .exe files in the download folder bullitproof adware

I was originally using AVG , but the pc was infected and avg did
not report any problems ..

On boot up MSE shows 'red' seemingly untill all the icons in
the bottom right window on the task bar are showing .. then it
switches 'on' turns green ... It -will not- turn on before this

Round this time the pc freezes , and seems to have high hard
drive activity ..

Q what is the best way to scan the pc .. as it seems that
something is active in the back ground and is not being removed
by the scans I have done .... ?

Is there a way of making a boot able disk or something ... can the
original xp install dick be used ?

Tnx - G ..

Why is that suprising (your first paragraph) to you?

It was suggested a week ago to leave malicious software scanning/
detection/removal to folks where that is there business.

If your PC is locking up, there is a deterministic method to
troubleshoot and resolve that which does not include trial and error.

If there seems to be something active in the background figure out
what it is and either explain it or fix it.

It seems pointless to launch an investigation until you have some
assurance that your system is clean. If you can't figure out what it
is, make sure of what it is not.

Perform some scans for malicious software, then fix any remaining
issues:

Download, install, update and do a full scan with these free malware
detection programs:

Malwarebytes (MBAM): http://malwarebytes.org/
SUPERAntiSpyware: (SAS): http://www.superantispyware.com/

They can be uninstalled later if desired.

So far so good ,
ran the ms on line removal tool .. reported no infections

ran the on line superanti .. scan that found 3 differant 'thing's' ,
removed and asked for re-boot , shut down pc , booted from install
cd and ran boot sector repair , intrestingly it wanted to repair
the d boot sector .. selected c , ran , then re booted . re ran
malwabytes nothing found .....

significant change is the removal of the time delay from clicking
on a link to visable actvity on the router (network port)

see what happens after a few re starts

tnx fr all info G ..

Either use F-secure online scanner or download a rescue CD from here:

http://www.f-secure.com/en_EMEA/security/security-lab/tools-and-services/online-scanner/

Let us know what happened so that feed back to f-secure can be sent.

Ok .. Just ran that off line scan , it found one maware in a
application file , renamed and uploaded as requested by the
prog .stated they have decided to call the code 'malware' as it is
planted without warning ..affected searches ? . also 8 spy ,,
dident take too long to finish ..

At this stage the pc looks to be 'normal' the windows MSE is
not showing 'red' during the boot sequence ..previously it
reported 'not runing' but could not be started ..my money is on
the boot sector repair from the install cd

tnx - G ..
