These Aero Themes appear to show several choices for wallpaper, but if I click
on one, only one picture comes up. How do you choose between the different
pictures within one theme? And can I create a folder there of my own with
pictures in it?

You don't. It acts like a slideshow.

Thanks. I wondered if that was the case. But how long between changes in the
picture. I've been looking at the same one for a while now. Is there some
setting I should know about?

Right-click the desktop, select Personalize. Click Desktop Background at
bottom toward left side. This gives you options such as which pictures get
include in the rotation, how often they change, and how they fill the
screen. Also, when a theme has more than one picture, you can go to the
next by right-clicking the desktop and selecting Next desktop background.
