My Microsoft Office programs - all of them - have suddenly locked, and i
can't edit any of them. I was wondering how to get rid of that?

Activate your Office installation. Since you did not specify what version
of Office you have, generally go to Help and find the activation area.
Enter the purchased license key in the proper location and your "locked"
program should be open again.

Perhaps you are using the Trial version and it timed out?

Usually happens like that when the Trial period comes to an end

I dunno if this remedy works for you.....
But
It had happened in ones colleague personal PC some time ago. What I
did was to repair the office software via the control panel>
addremove program > repair and uniinstal option> select the repair
after inserting the original MS office installation CD ,allow it to
run and when done, and it works .
The office software performance of that PC just returned to normal
after that... meaning the files were corrupted that it needs to re be
rebuit/repaired...
