Microsoft Studios premiered Microsoft Flight on January 4, 2012. It's a PC game with a free download this spring. It gives players from beginners to experienced pilots the freedom to fly the skies over the Big Island of Hawaii. PC pilots can complete a variety of missions, test their skills in flying challenges, or find hidden aerocaches on the island.
With Microsoft Flight, players view the world from above a realistic representation of the earth, complete with region-specific weather patterns, foliage, terrain and landmarks. Players can choose to use cockpits and authentic piloting procedures, or simply use their mouse and keyboard to control the plane in an exterior view. Players can tailor flight controls to match their skill level.

NOTE: Beginning and experienced pilots have used Microsoft Flight Simulator, a predicessor to Microsoft Flight, to develop and refine their skills in homes as well as flight schools since its earlier release. How's it working for you?

Microsoft Flight was a huge success in the early 90s - with each new release selling out in the small town of Yuba City on the first day of availability.
