Media Player 12 for Windows 7: Save as is grayed out...

Windows 7, Media Player 12. When I view a video in with the player in Skin
Mode, the File Menu shows Save as but it is grayed out. Not sure to save a
video. Happens when I view a video off the Internet or when viewed directly
off the hard drive.

I don't see how Save As can be useful for videos that are already on the
hard drive. Why not just copy the video file?

For videos on the Internet, you can right-click the link in IE and
select Save Target As, to download the video to the hard drive.

Re: utility of Save As.
If you click a video internet link and watch it, saving the file requires
that one return to the original webpage. Prior versions of media player
allowed a Save As of the currently playing video. Now one is required to
right click the link / Save Target As to save the video. Extra steps, not
intiutive.

Or when viewing videos off a CD, saving a few to the hard drive here and
there. Again, not being able to save the currently loaded video from media
player requires extra steps.

Why might Microsoft disable Save As?
