PHP 7 adoption on WordPress.org stats is less than 5%: https://wordpress.org/about/stats/

I would think shared hosts using php 5 have a lot to do with the stats and hope many people shift to PHP 7 in the coming months.

Also, @LPH, is it correct to assume that XenWord is 100% compatible with PHP 7?

Yes. This site is 7. PHP 5.3 is the minimum and if XF2 goes to 5.4 then I'll shift up
