Login dialog box has disappeared in IE8

I'd make absolutely certain that the McAfee removal tool had been run before
installing any Norton application (not that I'd ever install a Norton
application, especially that freebie).

As for your System Restore issues, that might be yet another of Norton's

PS: Comcast's Norton Security Suite freebie is merely "powered by Norton 360
Technology." Despite what the Comcast page may say, "Norton Security Suite"
and Norton 360 are not the same application (just like Comcast's McAfee
Security Center and McAfee Internet Security or McAfee Total Protection were
not the same applications).
