Today I decided to try some of the newer versions of Linux since I hadn't
used any Linux since the summer. I tried Ubuntu 9.10, Fedora and OpenSuse
with add on DVD, latest versions of all.
God does Linux suck!
Just some of the problems encountered:
No sound.
No printing.
My 6 button tilt/scroll mouse was turned into a 2 button generic mouse.
Couldn't get dual LCD displays working with an ATI card no matter what I
did.
Doesn't play some movies or music files.
Clobbered my iPod library, luck I had it backed up because I don't trust
Linux.
It's slow as shit even on an Intel I7 with 8g and a WD Raptor drive.
I get screen repaint problems, applications just disappear from the screen
while running with no indication as to why they exploded.
What a friggin mess Linux is.
Ubuntu looks like someone shit in a pine tree.
WTF? Shit brown. Well at least someone has a sense of humour.
Fedora almost destroyed my Windows partition.
Opensuse looks real nice, but who can figure out how to add software?
That Yast thing has to be the worst package manager on earth.
Linux has progressed but Windows 7 is far superior.
Why on earth anyone would want to use Linux as a desktop system is a mystery
to me.
It sucks.
