Links don't work in IE 8

Windows 7 Ulitmate with all updates, and IE 8 as installed. I've found that
I can't get links to respond (including from this site to start a new
thread)... I've had to use FireFox in order to post this. I can't get them
to work at all!!! some links work, but others do not at all - not always
associated with popup windows.

am I missing a security setting?? It's really frustrating - I love
everything about win 7, but this is the biggest pain in the butt! Please
fix. thanks.

Hi,

Tools>Compatibility View Settings - check "Include updated website lists
from Microsoft"

Regards.

Is it Win7 64-bit?

Did you upgrade to Win7?

I have a similiar problem. Some of the links from my "favorites" are
functional. When I click on some of the others IE8 is unable to display the
web page. It then invites me to diagnose connection problems. Firefox has
no connectivity issues (I am accessing this site via firefox) and as
previously mentioned some of my "favorite" links function just fine. I tried
the "Tools>Compatibility View Settings - check "Include updated website lists
from Microsoft" solution but that option was already checked. Any other
suggestions?

Have you tried running the page in compatibility mode? Compatibility
Mode displays pages as they would appear in IE 6 or 7 with the security
and speed of IE 8. Here is a link to show you how to run IE8 in
compatibility mode:

'Some Web sites may not be displayed correctly or work correctly in
Windows Internet Explorer 8' (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/956197/)
