Libraries

When I set up media center, it added all of my video folders to the Music
library. How can I delete the folders from the music library without
deleting the original folders, or move these folders to the correct library?

Many thanks in advance

Are you going to keep the answer a secret for yourself, or are you
going to help the other people who may be asking the same question?
Don't be selfish.

Right-click on the Library you have added/created, but no longer want
included> select Properties.
In the Properties box highlight the library location you want removed from
the Library.
Click Remove + OK.

Yo fuschia lassie:) I haven't got around to doing *anything* with libraries

To start with I looked at Libraries with great suspicion, but then worked
out that they could be useful :)

I don't have that many Libraries, but do have a Stationery_Everything (I
make a lot of stationery) Library.
A Photo Library (I take squazillions of photos).
A Tidy_Desktop Library, where everything that would normally be added to the
Desktop is filed.
It works very well.
My Desktop is clear and the wallpaper can be viewed without being spoiled by
too many icons.

I wonder if I can make a Sticky Note Library, hmm, must investigate that one
;-)

To start a new Library:
Right-click on Libraries>New>Library. Give it a Name.
That name will now appear under Libraries.
Right-click on the 'New Name'>Properties>Include folder>find the folder
path>Include Folder and Bob is your near relative.
Apply>OK.

To Remove: Highlight the folder to be removed>Click Remove etc.

Have fun.

Think of a Library as a kind of warehouse for storing folders which live all
over the place on your computer, a central access point sort of thing .
You can tell I am a very technical person! :)

No not like My Documents but like desktop There just links to the real
folders. If you have say Pictures in my document and also in E:/ Photos to
say nothing of U:/ USB external drive. You can add the links to the pictures
libraries then you only need to open that to navigate to each file . Mind I
find it just as quick to go to my computer as I know where if have put them.
But Media centre and player use only folders added to libraries

Ahh ok. I bit like my 'shortcut' folder on my desktop?
I think I will give it a try, but like you, I know where my stuff is and can
access it fast enough.
Thanks, Trev:)

Sorry, my bad.

In the library view, look at the top of the screen, click on "Locations".
From there it is simply a matter of selecting the location and choosing
"Remove". To add locations, select "Add Location" and browse to the folder
you want and select "Include Folder"
