Is this the only usenet/newsgroup for Windows 7 discussion?

Hello!

I noticed on msnews.microsoft.com's usenet/newsgroup server, there were
no official Windows 7 newsgroups. On Giganews, I only found one
unofficial one.

Where do peeople talk about Windows 7 beside those two places? I prefer
newsgroups over forums.

Thank you in advance. :)

MS hasn't set up any Win7 newsgroups and is unlikely to ever do so. They
only sanction the Win7 forums. Looks like they want out of Usenet
eventually.

Now, if we could only get Google out of the Usenet business,
things would get so much better.

There is another newsgroup started, it is alt.windows7.general .

Not all servers have it, but ask for it on yours.

Forums suck. This is the only NNTP newsgroup I have found devoted to
Windows 7, but Windows 7 x64 gets a lot of attention at the MS newsgroup
"microsoft.public.windows.64bit.general"

Yep, I never liked forums except for their new replies notifications
which is useful. I am old school and prefer text only posts. :) Oh well.

MS prefers forums where they own the content and can exercise complete
editorial control. Usenet by it's nature is democratic and decentralized:
can't control the message *here!*

Nevertheless ng's will be an alternative outlet to get all the *nasty*
uncensored info, unfiltered by MS. so, probably good to check in here once
in a while.
