Internet Explorer 8 upgrade for Windows Vista deletes cookies

Accepting the most recent upgrade from MS of Internet Explorer 8 caused most
of the recent cookies to be deleted. This is the second time that installing
Internet Explorer 8 has done this. Will Microsoft fix this unnecessary
inconvenience?

My upgrade to Internet Explorer 8 didn't erase any cookies. Actually, no
upgrade from Microsoft has erased any of my cookies.

Most reported problems involving Internet Explorer are actually caused
by incompatible add-ons.

I did not toss my cookies (pardon the pun) with the upgrade to IE8, and I
actually enjoy the idea that IE8 will allow me to delete all Cookies and
Temporary Internet Files every time I close. Deleting cookies and temp files
is desirable, I don't understand your complaint.

Deleting cookies that contain login or personalisation data for sites
visited regularly that you want to have autologin or personalisation for is
hardly what I'd call desirable ...

The "upgrade" as regards deletion of 'cookies' is actually a "downgrade".
This is not a complaint. It is actually a case of theft on the part of
Microsoft and it's supporting factions in this regard. It there is no
current way to "upgrade" to Internet Explorer 8 without deletion of ANY
'cookies', then an "upgrade" should not have been advertised or offered.

When I installed it the first time, I posted the error and did a reversion.

When Microsoft offered it again, the problem was not fixed.

Internet Explorer is designed to keep record of sites visited. It should
not infringe upon this basic feature in vitro.

What does Internet Explorer have to do with test tubes or Petri dishes?

I didn't have any cookies deleted during upgrade, as far as I can tell, so
from what I can see this isn't an issue with the IE upgrade process, but
rather something external to it.

Isn't that what IE _is_, a screenwipe ?
