Internet Connection issue

    I am unable to remain connected to the internet for more than 5 minutes. It keeps giving up with the following message on running the Diaganostic Test :

    "Windows has detected a problem with the Winsock provider catalog on this
    computer. This catalog allows programs to communicate with this computer
    across the network. Would you like Windows to reset the catalog to the
    default configuration? This computer might need to be restarted to restore
    network connectivity"

    It continues to connect to the internet whenever i restart my notebook, but not for more than 5 minutes. Please help
