Mark your calendars - Intel is set to host a Windows 8 tablet event on September 27th at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art. Executives from Acer, Asus, Dell, HP, Lenovo, Samsung and ZTE will be present to show off their Windows 8-based tablets.
According to
CNET News, "Tablets and convertibles using the new Intel chip will come with the full version of Windows 8, which can run virtually anything a Windows 7 laptop can. This differs from tablets based on Windows RT: those devices cannot run so-called "legacy" Windows software."
Windows 8 tablets will be released in two versions: ARM and Unarmed. OK. That isn't true, instead expect an ARM processor based device with Windows 8 preloaded (Windows RT) and the Intel and AMD based tablets which will operate as full Tablet PCs. Just understand that the Windows RT devices require the app store while the traditional x86 will have legacy app support.
