Installing Office 07 on Vista (Problem Encountered)

My previous version of office corrupted and won't run, now when I try to
install a new version to the same location it fails. I cannot uninstall the
older version because it is corrupt - I was wondering if there is a
walk-through for a manual uninstall or some support I don't have to pay $40
for.
