Information suddenly appearing in the middle of messages - why?

My wife, on two occasions, was preparing a message when suddenly the
address I use on news groups (i.e. frog@pond.com) appeared in the middle
of the sentence. On the other occasions, some health-related data I
record using Microsoft Word appeared in the middle of her sentence.
Both occurrences are strange events, as she does not get involved in
newsgroups and has nothing to do with my health data.

I first thought my problem had to do with information remaining in
memory somehow. After some more thinking on this subject, I started
thinking this was not likely since (1) I hadn't been on the newsgroup
for over two weeks, and (2) my computer is turned off every night. My
second thought was Malware -- thus, I ran Malwarebytes on my whole
system -- nothing was found. I ran SuperAntiSpyware on the system --
nothing was found. Then, I ran Microsoft Windows Malicious Software
Removal Tool -- nothing was found. Next, I checked Device Manager -- no
problems were noted. Now,I am lost as to what I should do next to locate
my problem. Any suggestions forthcoming will be appreciated.

Operating System - Windows XP SP3
Microsoft Word 2003
Up-to-date CA Anti-Virus Software on system

One of the more amusing "design" aspects of MS Word is the fact
that SOME of what you think you have deleted actually remains in
the "document" and can be seen even in something as simple as
Notepad, size permitting - although it does NOT show in the
document when viewed in Word itself. Cool, huh?

This has been (supposedly) responsible for job trouble,
divorces, etc. - although admittedly on few occasions, since for
one thing, most people are not even aware of this "feature".
Personally, I consider it as good a reason as any NOT to use MS
Office (as if one needed any reasons). Notepad is all you need
to do most of your writing, or a free substitute which will
handle files of ANY size, and there are hundreds of those. My
faves are Edxor and NoteTabLite.

What you describe is a /little/ different, but WHO KNOWS what MS
have done, or what weird quirk may have developed on your
computer to cause this behavior. It is certainly not normal.

There are utility programs which will insert a string of text
(or anything) when you hit a certain key combination - I have
one of those installed (ShortKeys Lite) and sometimes I get one
of my addresses or a password in the middle of sentence, but it
is rare and I am aware of it happening - although it sure
freaked me out the first couple of times. You MAY have one of
those installed and this may be causing the problem - but I sort
of doubt it.

I think this is due to word automatically doing a word fill, but I also think
it's better answered in a word group, not a General xp group.

1. Clear the clipboard.

2. Run Disk Cleanup.

3. Stop inadvertently hitting CTRL+V or check for a sticking CTRL key.
