And do you have Active Scripting enabled in the Internet Zone on the machine
in question?

Tools||Internet Options||Security(tab)||Internet(zone)||Custom
Level...||Scripting||Active Scripting

Have checked to see if your User Agent String is corrupted?

If you are using IE8 on Windows XP SP3 then your user agent string should
look something like this:

Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 8.0; Windows NT 5.1; Trident/4.0)
