IE8 on Windows Server 2008 R2

I have Windows Server 2008 R2 with IE8. I had to uninstall IE8
(http://support.microsoft.com/kb/957700) due to incompatibility with some
websites.

The un-installation went through fine. I want to re-install it (I prefer IE7
but looks like its not available anymore for R2) now but cannot find a
version for Windows Server 2008 R2. Download page does have this platform
listed but the downloaded binary associated with that link downloads Vista64
and when I try to install it I get a message saying "IE8 is not supported on
this operating system". Any idea why this is happening?

[I don't think there's a Windows Server 2008 R2 "N Edition"]

You can remove access to IE8 in WinServer 2008 but you cannot uninstall it.

You can re-enable access to IE8 via Control Panel | Programs | Turn Windows
features on or off.
