Flightless Bird
OK, I know this sounds weird but it just started and I have been able to
replicate the problem several times, on several different web pages. For the
record, I tested with FireFox and do not experience the problem.
http://www.saintpaulsumc.com/women_reading.htm has two links to the same pdf
file: http://www.saintpaulsumc.com/docs/umwreading2010.pdf One of them is
at the top of the page: <UMW 2010 Reading List> and one of them is in the
4th paragraph: 2010 Reading List I manage the website for this church.
Either of the links works fine for me if it is the first link that I open.
If I close the pdf window and then click on the other link, the new window
in IE8 locks up and my only exit is thru Task Manager. I found that if I
clean out the browser's temp files, history, cookies between clicking on the
two links, everything works fine. I was able to duplicate the problem on
other websites, including pdf files that are not my files, so I don't think
it's a PDF file issue. I've checked for IE updates and I'm up to date. I've
also tried rebooting but still have the problem. The problem does not occur
with FireFox, so I assume it's not a PDF Reader bug. Any ideas what's going
on?
Thanks for your help,
