i get the "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage" message screen with
the diagnose connection problem button when trying to open any link to a
webpage in pdf format. when using Firefox the links open fine with no problem
this is using IE8 on a new Windows 7 laptop. i had no problems previously on
my old laptop using IE8 & XP

Web pages are not in pdf format. Have you installed a pdf reader application
such as Foxit or Adobe reader?
