IE7 search box (top right)

I'm using IE7 (7.0.5730.13IS). There is a little "Search" box in the top
right which I'd like to remove, but cannot find the setting to do this.

When I choose "Change Search Defaults..." and then try to remove "Ask.co.uk"
(which is not the problem, I don't mind ask) IE7 says I have to add another
search provider.

I've also tried right-clicking the bar and trying Customise... Again there's
no option to remove this.

Any way to do this?

Thanks,
Alain

Found a website that gave the answer if anyone is interested. It does
involve creating a registry key so probably not for the faint-hearted:

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Internet
Explorer\Infodelivery\Restrictions]
"NoSearchBox"=dword:00000001

Did you mean IE7 or IE8? AFAIR, I removed the Search box in IE7 by just
pulling it off the screen (ALT-drag with L mouse key held down? It was a
long time ago!). I definitely did not have to change any registry key.

But if you meant IE8, that is a different matter - the only way to get rid
of the annoying Search box is to edit that key.
