Get rid of Adobe reader & get Foxit--faster, much smaller & less complicated.
Been using it for 2 years with no problems, even when message is "must have
Adobe...."

Unless Foxit has change their stance on PDF packages in the past few months
I won't be using their reader - I have a large number of PDFs that I use on
a regular basis that are in PDF package format, Foxit just shows a message
stating that Adobe Reader is required to read the file.

My advice to the OP is to uninstall Adobe Reader, and then reinstall it, as
it sounds like there's a problem with the Reader plugin. I'd also be tempted
to disable to the Reader plugins, I did that on my own PC at home because I
prefer to open PDFs in Reader separately rather than in a browser.
