This question relates to Win XP SP3. Is there any way to lock the Quick Launch area of the taskbar so that it cannot be changed except by very purposeful means? When my mother should click on a Quick Launch icon, she has the bad habit of continuing to hold down the mouse button, resulting in dragging the icon off the Quick Launch area and creating a shortcut on the Desktop. There is no way to train her. She is elderly. She is mostly computer illiterate. The difference between click-and-release v. click-and-hold continues to elude her. I had always mistakenly thought that Lock Taskbar guarded against this. I finally RTFM.
