How do I stop Office from repeatedly asking for name and initials

I manage a school network running XP with Office 2007. When users open Word
or PowerPoint 2007, it asks for their name and initials like it would the
first time they opened it, and the users enter them as usual. But then
Office starts asking for them again and again every few seconds, making it
impossible to accomplish anything. I have no clue what would be causing this
to happen, as we've had this setup for over a year now and it just started
happening.
Any help would be appreciated.
