Hi,

I have had to do a system recovery and have lost office. It is on my old
disk structure which I have copied over to my new program files.
Unfortunately I haven't got the CD anymore. How can I get it going again?

if you performed a
factory restore,

that is you executed
the process of restoring
the machine back to its
original state when it
left the factory,

then unfortunately
you're out of luck w/o
your installation cd.

----------------

however, in the interim
and until you purchase
office again,

you can use the open
source freeware version
of office called open
office.

if you have documents
stored on removable
media,

then the freeware can
access word documents
and buy you some time.

Hi db,

Thanks for the advice!

Do you know how I can access any of my emails that I had in Outlook?

Tor,
The freeware will not give you Outlook. I tried. I di download Office
2010 Beta. Works PERFECT! Has Outlook. It's good until October. By then,
you can decide to buy 2010, 2007, or whatever you need. Personally- I Love
it!

Thanks!

Flightless Bird
you're welcome.

however, I have some bad
news.

unfortunately, if you executed
a factory restore,

then everything on the disk
was wiped away.

the disk was basically reset
with all the original software
that came with the machine
at the time it left the factory.

however, if you have an
email account with your isp
and outlook was configured
to download messages from
your isp email service,

then perhaps there are
copies of the emails stored
on your isp's server in your
web email account.

for example:

at&t provides internet services
and email accounts to its
customers as well.

so if outlook was set up to
retrieve emails from your at&
email account,

then there may be copies
of your emails stored in your
email account with at&t.
